Ukraine war updates on February 16, 2016 by the Presidential Administration spokeman on ATO issues  daily briefing: EMPR highlights 

 

(1) The situation became tense all along the front line in eastern Ukraine yesterday; each enemy’s third shelling conducted from the forbidden by the Minsk agrements heavy arms – mortars;
(2) Luhansk direction: the enemy violated ceasefire regime twice on the north of Bahmutovska line; once Ukrainian armed forces returned fire;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian forces fired with 200 mines upon Ukrainian armed forces positions yesterday; the enemy fired 4 times upon Ukrainian positions around Svytlodarsk line; tense combats with more than a dozen mortars shellings continue on Zaytseve – Mayorsk direction; Russian militants used 122-mm artilery launcher Gvozdyka there; 15 enemy’s shellings took place on the south direction around the village of Novgorodske;  Several Russian servicemen were killed near Zaytseve yesterday, Ukrainian intelligence service reports; 3 coffins were transported from Horlyvka morgue toward Russian border yesterday; tense situation remains at Donetsk airport, though heavy arms were not used there;
(4) Mariupol direction: systematically shelling in Maryinka and Krasnogoryvka;
(5) 3 Ukrainian serviceman KIA and 6 WIA in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
