Ukraine war updates on February 25, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights

(1) The situation remains tense all across the front line in the war zone in Eastern Ukraine; Russian forces violated ceasefire regime 56 times, including 35 violations in Donetsk direction and 21 violations in Mariupol direction; Russian militants continue shelling from the mortar launchers, forbidden by the Minsk agreements;

(2) Luhansk direction: situation remains calm in this direction;

(3) Donetsk direction: tense atmosphere reported near Donetsk airport; Russian militants fired upon Ukrainian positions with the small arms, grenade launchers, and heavy machine guns near Pisky, Avdyivka, Opytne, with mortar launchers near Pervomaysk, and with anti-aircraft installations near Krasnogoryvka and Nevelske; Russian militants fired also with the grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms upon Ukrainian positions in Novgorodske and Mayorsk, which are near Horlyvka; but the hottest spot reported in Zaytseve over the last night: Russian armed forces fired with 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, small arms and heavy machine guns here during almost 24 hours, but Ukrainian troops repelled all Russian attack, made them step back, and seized much weaponry;

(4) Mariupol direction: The most intensive shelling reported near Maryinka; Russian militants fired upon Ukrainian positions with small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers; Ukrainian troops returned fire on almost all Russian provocation near Maryinka with the small arms; the enemy also step back from the village of Shyrokyno yesterday, but mined almost each house there and the city is under Ukrainian Armed Forces control;

(5) No casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen over the last day, 2 servicemen wounded: one during de-mining works in Shyrokyne, one in a blast of explosive dev near Novhorodske.
