Ukrainian band Brunettes Shoot Blondes gets prize at the Berlin Music Video Awards
Knock Knock video by Ukrainian music band Brunettes Shoot Blondes took the “Best Concept” at the Berlin Music Video Awards 2015. Kryvyi Rih indie rockers managed to win in this category from such artists as Denai Moore, MIA, Ibeyi, Hozier and others.
The clip has already collected more than seven million YouTube views. Ukrainian indie pop band Brunettes Shoot Blondes was created five years ago, but they gained real recognition after releasing a remarkable music video for their song Knock, Knock.
Brunettes Shoot Blondes is an indie rock band based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Formed at the beginning of 2010, the band was noticed by music lovers.
In September 2014, the band released a self-produced music video for the song Knock Knock which immediately became a worldwide viral hit. With over 6 million views on YouTube, it was called an Internet sensation and positively reviewed by such media as Billboard, Yahoo! Music, The Daily Mirror, USA Today, Mashable, Business Insider, Daily Mail and many others.
At the end of 2014, Brunettes Shoot Blondes presented a new video work for the song called Bittersweet. The video made in partnership with Opel Germany was produced by the band, as well as the previous one.
The band’s songs and videos are now on rotation on various radio and TV stations. The musicians have already performed numerous shows and festivals in their homeland and on the stages of Europe. Currently the band is working on their debut album and looking for a record label.
To remind, another Ukrainian music band Dead Boys Girlfriend got three Berlin Music Video Awards nominations.
