Kyiv, Ukraine - May 18,2015 - More than a thousand citizens came to the central square of Ukraine's capital to honor the memory of the 71st anniversary of Crimean Tatar deportation from Crimea.
18 May, Odesa joined other Ukrainian cities in commemorating victims of deportation of Crimean Tatars that started 71 years ago by Stalin’s order.
21 March, at midnight, ATR TV channel went off air, since Russia refused to register the only Crimean Tatar channel in the world, broadcasting 24/7 since 2006 in three languages: Crimean Tatar, Ukrainian and Russian.
Russian authorities continue initiating criminal cases against Ukrainian activists residing in Crimea. So-called "Prosecutor's Office" of Crimea approved an indictment within a criminal case against Maidan activist, Crimean resident Aleksandr Kostenko, detained on 5 February 2015, 15minut.org reports.
