Crimea Drone Attack: Explosions Reported Across Occupied Peninsula

A wave of explosions reportedly struck areas near military airfields and fuel depots across occupied Crimea. Local sources describe intense drone activity and air defense operations overnight.

Explosions were reported near military airfields and fuel storage facilities in occupied Crimea late on June 3, amid what local sources described as a large-scale drone attack. Reports also emerged of a possible strike on a Russian military installation

According to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind and the partisan movement ATESH, a series of explosions was heard in the areas of Simferopol, Sevastopol, Dzhankoi, and the Kacha military airfield.

The Crimean Wind channel reported that multiple explosions were recorded between approximately 10:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. local time near the Kacha military airfield, Cape Fiolent, areas outside Simferopol, and near Hvardiiske. Local residents also reported the operation of air defense systems, searchlights, and mobile fire teams.

Witnesses in the Hresivskyi district reported hearing several explosions. Later, reports indicated the detonation of two FPV drones, followed by a powerful blast and a visible glow in the night sky. Two TES fuel storage facilities are located near the area; both were previously targeted during attacks in 2025.

At approximately 11:44 p.m., subscribers of the Crimean Wind channel reported a strike on a Russian military unit in central Simferopol. However, no official confirmation of the claim has been released.

The ATESH resistance movement also reported drones flying over Sevastopol, explosions in the city’s Nakhimov district, and intensive activity by Russian air defense systems.

In addition, ATESH claimed that drones were moving toward occupied Melitopol, where Russian forces reportedly attempted to intercept them.

As of publication, Russian authorities had not commented on the reported attacks or any possible damage resulting from the incident.
