Russia Launches Missile Strike on Merefa in Kharkiv Region: Four Killed, 18 Injured

On the morning of Monday, May 4, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the city of Merefa in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the attack, four people were killed and 18 others were injured.

According to NV.ua Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that the number of injured had risen to 18.

Rescuers swiftly extinguished two fire hotspots. Sapper units of the State Emergency Service and community officers also worked at the strike sites alongside them.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov reported that the victims were men aged 50 and 63, and women aged 41 and 52. All of the injured are receiving the necessary assistance.

As a result of the Russian strike, a private house and a car caught fire. The blaze has since been extinguished.

Other private and apartment buildings, four shops, and a service station were also damaged.

Emergency medical teams and all relevant services are working at the scene, the regional administration added.
