Russia – Ukraine  war updates latest from the General Staff of Ukraine as of October 7, 2026.

Today is 1,687th day of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Operational Update as of 08:00 AM on Russian invasion of Ukraine

In total, 202 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.

Yesterday the russian occupiers carried out 85 air strikes, including the use of 278 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders employed 9,728 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,521 attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops.

In Sumy region, enemy artillery fire hit the settlements of Ulanove, Pysarivka, Khrapivshchyna, Seredyna-Buda, Korchakivka, Hirky and Volfyne. Airstrikes hit the area of the settlement of Khrapivshchyna.

Over the past day, aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck one area where enemy personnel were concentrated and one enemy UAV command post.

Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk Direction

08:00 AM: the russian invaders attacked three times in the areas of Bachivsk, Rivne and Volfyne.

Southern-Slobozhanskyi Direction

08:00 AM: Ukrainian units repelled 11 russian enemy attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of Volokhivka, Starytsia, Izbytske, Zakharivka, Mala Vovcha and Varvarivka.

Kupiansk Direction

08:00 AM: the russian troops attacked once in the area of Kivsharivka.

Lyman Direction

08:00 AM: Attempts to advance were stopped; Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attacks in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Nadiia, Stavky, Novoselivka and Lyman.

Kramatorsk Direction

08:00 AM: Ukrainian troops repelled two russian attacks in the area of Minkivka.

Kostyantinivka Direction

08:00 AM: 14 russian attacks were recorded. The occupiers conducted assault operations in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Mykolaipillia and Osykove.

Pokrovsk Direction

08:00 AM: Ukrainian defenders stopped 27 attacks. The enemy concentrated its main efforts in the areas of Serhiivka and Molodetske, and also launched assaults toward Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Bilytske, Vodianske, Dobropillia and Novohryshyne.

Huliaipole Direction

08:00 AM:13 russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Hirke, Rybne, Vozdvyzhivka, Dolynka, Rivne, Kopani, Yehorivka, Novoselivka and Charivne.

Orikhiv Direction

08:00 AM: Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of Stepnohirsk and Plavni.

On the Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, Prydniprovske, Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy conducted no active operations over the past day. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings have been detected.

Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic destruction of the enemy, put up effective resistance along the entire front line, and inflict significant losses on the occupiers.

In total, over the past day, Russian invaders lost 1,690 personnel. Also destroyed or neutralized were four armored combat vehicles, 51 artillery systems, eight multiple-launch rocket systems, two air-defense assets, 12 ground robotic systems, 1,890 unmanned aerial vehicles, two heavy flamethrower systems, 577 vehicles and five pieces of special equipment.
