Russian attack damages Dnipro apartment building, injures five civilians, sparks fires, as drones and artillery strikes hit wider region infrastructure.
Russian forces struck a residential high-rise building in the city of Dnipro, leaving civilians injured and causing significant damage, according to regional authorities.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, said in a Telegram post that the attack damaged a multi-story apartment building.
“A high-rise building has been damaged. Preliminary reports indicate there are casualties. The consequences are being уточнені,” Hanzha wrote.
Shortly afterward, he уточнив that five people had been injured in the attack. Fires also broke out in apartments on the second and third floors of the building.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Air Force had warned about a group of drones approaching the city. Hanzha also reported that air defense systems were active during the attack.
In addition, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration reported that three districts in the region came under Russian fire. According to the State Emergency Service, Russian forces attacked the region using drones and artillery.
In Kryvyi Rih, infrastructure was damaged. In the Nikopol area, the Marhanets and Pokrovske communities came under attack. In the Synelnykove district, the Mykolaivka, Vasylkivka, and Petropavlivka communities were shelled, damaging businesses and causing a fire in a private home.
According to preliminary information, no casualties were reported in these areas.
