Ukraine and Moldova have signed a military-technical cooperation agreement, with Moldova seeking Ukrainian air defense expertise and expanded collaboration on demining and regional security.
Representatives of the Ukrainian and Moldovan governments have signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation.
Ukrainian and Moldovan Prime Ministers Serhii Koretskyi and Vasile Tofan announced this, Suspilne’s correspondent reports.
“The agreement paves the way for the exchange of experience,” Serhii Koretskyi commented.
Koretskyi also said that Ukraine had proposed expanding cooperation with Moldova within the demining coalition.
“We also have other working formats. These include the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Odesa Triangle, which brings together three countries: Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine,” Serhii Koretskyi said.
Vasile Tofan added that Moldova’s airspace had been violated more than 100 times since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, making his country interested in Ukraine’s air defense experience.
“Our airspace has been violated more than 100 times since the war began. Drones and missile fragments have fallen on our territory, with five incidents occurring on a single Saturday alone. We cannot ignore these risks. Ukraine has accumulated extraordinary experience — perhaps the best in the world — in countering drones, including through effective and low-cost technological solutions. We want to learn from this experience and find solutions to protect our airspace,” the Moldovan prime minister emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine had asked Moldova to extend the 50% discount on rail transit for Ukrainian cargo for 2027.
