Russian forces advance in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, controlling key areas. Intense fighting continues, with drones and infantry pressuring Ukrainian defenses, making Pokrovsk the front’s hottest sector.
The Russian army has advanced in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, the DeepState project reported on February 4, as noted by Radio Svoboda.
According to analysts, the aggressor has seized new territories in the northern part of Pokrovsk and has also advanced toward Hryshyno – a settlement key for the Defense Forces’ logistics in the agglomeration. In Myrnohrad, the aggressor has occupied several more blocks in the eastern part of the city. A day earlier, DeepState analysts had already noted the Russian army’s advance toward Hryshyno.
“Pokrovsk continues to be absorbed by the enemy, who, in addition to infantry, is actively bringing in its equipment, deploying electronic warfare systems, and scattering its pilots across the area, who, using drones, effectively control the logistics of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration,” the project’s analysts wrote.
According to them, Russian drone pilots have taken positions in the area of the nine-story buildings, allowing them to control the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ logistics within a 10-kilometer radius. In Myrnohrad, the situation is even more difficult – through the settlement of Rodynske to the north, the aggressor is conducting raids behind the Defense Forces’ lines, attacking positions of Ukrainian pilots.
“The latest battles for Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are ongoing,” the analysts concluded.
On the morning of February 4, the Ukrainian General Staff reported 35 assaults by the Russian army on the Pokrovsk direction within 24 hours – the hottest sector of the front.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on January 19 that a grueling confrontation continues in the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration. According to him, the Russian army is trying to increase pressure – pulling reserves toward Pokrovsk and seeking opportunities to break through Ukrainian defenses both through sporadic large-scale assaults and covert advances by small infantry groups.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been ongoing since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to reach the city after several months of battles on its outskirts. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers were also spotted in Pokrovsk’s satellite city, Myrnohrad. On the DeepState project map, most of both cities is now under the aggressor’s control, with the rest in a “gray zone.” According to the Ukrainian General Staff’s reports, the Pokrovsk direction consistently leads in the number of Russian assaults.
