Iranian officials have claimed the destruction of a warehouse allegedly containing Ukrainian drone and counter-drone systems in Dubai, asserting that 21 Ukrainian nationals were present at the site.
The statement was made by Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, according to Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Zolfaghari claimed that the targeted site stored counter-drone systems linked to Ukraine and described as part of assistance connected to U.S. military operations. He added that 21 Ukrainian citizens were allegedly present at the facility at the time of the strike, though their fate remains unknown.
No independent confirmation has been provided.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly denied the claims.
“This is false. We officially refute this information. The Iranian regime frequently conducts such disinformation operations and in this regard is no different from Russia,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.
Ukraine has previously deployed military experts to several Middle Eastern countries, including the United Arab Emirates. Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared footage of meetings with Ukrainian specialists in the region.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian experts have held consultations with UAE security and defense officials, developing “a clear understanding of how to strengthen air defense systems and protect critical infrastructure in the Emirates by integrating Ukrainian experience.”
Earlier, Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi, head of parliament’s national security committee, warned of potential strikes against Ukraine, accusing Kyiv of supporting Israel with drone technology and “effectively entering the conflict.”
