Ukraine’s FP-7X Missile Takes Flight as Fire Point Advances Next-Generation Air Defense

Ukrainian company Fire Point has conducted a test launch of the FP-7X missile, which is being developed as part of the FREYJA future anti-ballistic interceptor project.

As reported by Censor.NET, footage of the test launch and the missile’s flight was published by Fire Point CEO Kateryna Terekh.

“In recent days, we carried out an extremely important test: a fully guided maneuvering flight of the FP-7X missile, which will serve as the foundation for the future FREYJA anti-ballistic interceptor. No matter how unrealistic and ambitious this goal may seem today, we are making every possible and impossible effort to turn it into reality as quickly as possible, so that Ukraine can defend its skies on its own,” Terekh said.

She stressed that every successful test of a new missile brings Ukraine closer to technological independence and the development of its own missile defense capabilities.

FP-7X Missile Specifications

According to its stated specifications, the missile is capable of striking targets at ranges of up to 200 kilometers and carrying a warhead weighing up to 150 kilograms.

It is also reported that the FP-7X can reach a maximum speed of 1,500 meters per second, making it a promising platform for the further development of missile defense systems.
