Ukrainians in Prague Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Vyshyvanka Day With Major Festival
A large festival in Prague is bringing together the Ukrainian diaspora and guests to celebrate Vyshyvanka Day, promising workshops, concerts, and a fair. It is a gathering for families and friends that highlights cultural unity far from home.

The Ukrainian community in Prague is preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vyshyvanka Day in the Czech capital — a major cultural movement symbolizing the unity of Ukrainians abroad.
Ukrainian craftswoman and public activist Maria Skyba announced the event on Facebook.
The history of the celebration in Prague began back in 2016. Since then, numerous events have taken place, with the most vibrant being the annual mega march in vyshyvankas through the city center. Since 2024, the organizers have expanded the format by launching a large festival.
3rd Vyshyvanka Fest Praha 2026
This year, residents and guests of the Czech capital are invited to the 3rd Vyshyvanka Fest – Praha 2026. The event will take place at GAUČ (Výstaviště) on May 24 and will run from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The festival program will include performances by Ukrainian bands and folk groups, ensembles, and creative collectives of national minorities; a fair featuring Ukrainian brands and authentic handmade products; an area with traditional Ukrainian cuisine; a children’s zone, workshops, interactive activities, and prize giveaways.
“This is more than just an event — it is a gathering of Ukrainians, support for culture, and the creation of a community far from home. Put on your vyshyvanka and come celebrate with us!” – Organizing Committee
The festival aims not only to unite the diaspora, but also to introduce the Czech community to the richness of Ukrainian culture.
Ahead of Easter, an event dedicated to preserving ancient Ukrainian traditions was held in Prague. Community members and guests took part in workshops on pysanka-making and traditional wax techniques.
War and the displacement of Ukrainians remain pressing issues, yet Vyshyvanka Fest Praha 2026 highlights the importance of preserving culture and community abroad. This year’s event is expected to attract participants and guests from various regions.
In this way, Vyshyvanka Fest Praha 2026 will once again confirm the role of culture as a bridge between the Ukrainian diaspora and Czech society.
