Russian forces are intensifying attacks on Ukrainian positions along the entire front line. The highest number of assaults is taking place in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. Fighting also continues in the border areas of Sumy region, as well as in Luhansk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Why advances remain slow?

However, last week, despite a noticeable increase in the number of attacks, the enemy did not achieve the expected results, as the front line remained largely unchanged in most directions.

For details on how the front line changed over the past week from April 20 to 26, 2026, read the article on 24 Kanal. The overview of the combat map is based on data from DeepStateMAP.

Dynamics of Combat Operations

Over the past week, the highest number of combat engagements in the last two months was recorded. The enemy intensified its attacks, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction. Apparently, after the unsuccessful start of the spring campaign, the enemy is making another attempt.

Last week, Russian forces launched 1,384 assaults on Ukrainian Defense Forces positions. The situation by sector is as follows:

Pokrovsk – 305 attacks;

Huliaipole – 147 attacks;

Kostiantynivka – 133 attacks;

Kupyansk – 65 attacks;

Oleksandrivka – 59 attacks;

Lyman – 57 attacks;

Kharkiv – 46 attacks;

Prydnipro direction – 26 attacks;

Sumy – 19 attacks;

Kramatorsk – 19 attacks;

Orikhiv – 14 attacks;

Sloviansk – 13 attacks.

Despite the increase in the number of enemy attacks, the front line did not change in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Prydnipro directions. The situation in other sectors is discussed below.

Enemy Advance Near Kupyansk

Russian forces, making another attempt to capture Kupyansk after previous failures, are once again pushing from the north. Last week, the enemy even managed to advance in the area of the village of Synkivka, moving toward the northern outskirts of Kupyansk. At the same time, according to the DeepState map, the city has not yet been fully cleared following the autumn–winter operation by the Defense Forces.

What Is Happening Near Sloviansk?

On the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces made advances last week in the area of the village of Riznykivka. At the same time, enemy infantry managed to infiltrate the area near Rai-Oleksandrivka, which is now marked as a grey zone. Although the enemy has not been able to establish a foothold there, the situation remains concerning, as this settlement is one of the key objectives on the route toward the city of Sloviansk.

Russian Advance Toward Kostiantynivka

On the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to disrupt enemy attempts to enter the city. Despite the number of assaults, most of the front line in this sector has remained unchanged.

However, last week Russian forces advanced in the area of the village of Predtechyne, moving toward the southern outskirts of Kostiantynivka.

Battle for Rodynske Continues

On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces, in addition to attempting to seize the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, are also trying to occupy the nearby town of Rodynske. Last week, the enemy advanced in the central part of the settlement.

Russian forces also made gains in the village of Hryshyne. Most of the village is now occupied, while its northern part remains a grey zone. The enemy has also established positions on the outskirts of Novooleksandrivka.

Enemy Advances Near Huliaipole

The Huliaipole direction has remained one of the most difficult along the entire front line for several months. Last week, Russian forces once again advanced south of Huliaipole itself, namely in the area of Myrne. The enemy is currently attempting to approach Orikhiv from the east, similar to how they previously advanced toward Huliaipole.

Given that the front line lies south of Orikhiv, an eastern push would not only further complicate the local situation but also make logistics from the north more difficult.
