Military commanders and analysts almost simultaneously published messages on social media on January 3, expressing support for the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, and opposing his dismissal.

Details: Among those expressing support were the commander of the 1st NGU Corps “Azov,” Colonel Denys “Redis” Prokopenko; the head of the Joint Forces Grouping, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi; the head of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi; the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Andriy Biletsky; the commander of the 2nd NGU Corps, Ihor Obolensky; analysts from Deepstate; and others.

The military shared their experiences serving with the head of the SBU and emphasized that he “is in the right place.”

Background: The day before, sources from Ukrainska Pravda in the President’s Office and the security sector reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to dismiss Malyuk and appoint him as head of the Foreign Intelligence Service or as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
