The Ukrainian national team represented Ukraine at the first International Olympiad in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence for school students (International Cyber Olympiad in AI, ICOA 2026).

Ukrainian Team Wins Four Medals
The competition took place in Sydney, Australia, bringing together 65 participants from 20 countries around the world.
Ukraine was represented at the Olympiad by four school students from Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava region, and Odesa. They passed the nationwide selection process and then trained for the international competition at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Despite strong competition, the Ukrainian national team finished among the top three teams in the tournament.
The participants won:
a gold medal in the main ranking;
two bronze medals in the main ranking;
a silver medal in the special Pioneer Round ranking.
What Is ICOA?
The International Cyber Olympiad in AI is an international Olympiad dedicated to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
Participants use artificial intelligence models to solve cybersecurity challenges and explore vulnerabilities in AI systems used in robotic devices.
Ajax Systems was one of the partners that funded logistics, accommodation, and participation in the competition.
Supporting ICOA 2026 was the company’s first project in the field of cybersecurity and AI for school students. The initiative is implemented as part of the Ajax Next educational program, which supports the development of technical education in Ukraine.
Ajax Systems Expands Its Support for the Olympiad Movement
Ajax Systems Founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Oleksandr Konotopskyi emphasized the importance of international competitions for the development of young professionals.
According to him, international competition motivates school students to develop their skills, while the participation of Ukrainian teams helps showcase the achievements of young Ukrainians to the world.
“Participation in international Olympiads is very important. First, it motivates students to study hard and be the best in Ukraine. Second, competition is a driver of development. And only through international competition can one develop into a world-class specialist. And third, it contributes to the development of the ‘Ukraine’ brand,” Oleksandr Konotopskyi emphasized.
“We have many talented young people — let’s show the world their achievements. That is why we see the development of the Olympiad movement as an extremely important and high-priority project for us,” the Ajax Systems founder added.
According to the company, in 2026, it expanded the Ajax Next program and supported the participation of 120 Ukrainian school students in seven Olympiads and competitions in mathematics, physics, robotics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Most of the teams returned home from international competitions with medals.
Ajax Systems also funded two mathematics camps attended by 180 school students.
It was also previously reported that Ajax Systems wants to help Kyiv Polytechnic Institute enter the top 100 universities in the world.
