Ukraine Destroys Russian Supply Bridges With Low-Cost Drones in Crimea Corridor

Ukraine’s medium-range drones are targeting critical Russian supply bridges linking Crimea to the southern front, threatening key logistics routes and military operations.

A series of strikes on bridges in Armyansk, Chongar, and Henichesk could significantly impact the logistics of Russian forces in southern Ukraine. Ukrainian troops are carrying out systematic attacks on Russia’s key supply bridges using new medium-range drones. The strikes have already caused substantial damage to critical logistics infrastructure connecting occupied Crimea with southern frontline regions, according to unian.

According to Ukraine’s 1st Separate Assault Regiment, Ukrainian forces attacked bridges in the areas of Armyansk, Henichesk, and Chongar over the past week – strategically important transport links between Crimea and the occupied mainland territories.

These crossings are located dozens of kilometers from the front line and are used by Russia to supply troops in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. On social media, the unit released videos showing drones striking the road surfaces of the bridges. According to the military, some of the attacks were coordinated with other Ukrainian units, including the elite Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Alpha Group.

The publication notes that Ukrainian military officials described these bridges as effectively the “only supply route” from Crimea to Russian forces operating on the southern front.

The attacks reportedly involve new medium-range strike drones, including the FP-2 and Hippo models, which carry explosive and thermobaric warheads.

According to Ukrainian forces, these systems can strike targets at considerable distances while remaining relatively inexpensive to produce compared with long-range drones. Footage released by the military shows fires on at least two bridges and significant structural damage. However, independent verification of the footage has not yet been possible.

The Russian-installed occupation authorities in Kherson Oblast confirmed that the attacks took place. According to Vladimir Saldo, at least 45 drone strikes targeted bridges in the Armyansk area.

Reports also indicate that approximately 20 attacks were carried out against the bridge near Chongar, after which traffic was partially or completely suspended. Alternative routes were later introduced.

Analysts note that the bridge strikes are strategically significant because they complicate Russia’s ability to supply troops with fuel, ammunition, and military equipment.
