A young priest spent four hours ringing the bells of St. Michael’s Monastery from the night of December 10 to the early hours of December 11, 2013, rousing Kyiv as the police began clearing Maidan.
The last time St. Michael’s bells tolled an alarm was in 1240 when the Tatars attacked Kyiv.

He did not wait for approval from his superiors.
He did not write reports requesting permission to ring the bell.
The monastery opened its doors to people, protecting them from the enraged police, and Ivan, along with the seminarians, began ringing the bells with all their might.
This is how true Christians act, and regardless of church denominations, they can be found everywhere.
