The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported large-scale attacks by the Russian army and heavy losses among the invaders.

The Russian occupying army is advancing from Donbas toward Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In the Novopavlivka direction, the occupiers captured three settlements and made gains in the area of two more. Glavred reports that this information was provided by the OSINT project DeepState.

In the evening of October 2, monitors reported that in Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces occupied the villages of Berezove and Kalynivske, and also advanced near Vorone.

Further south, within Zaporizhzhia region, the enemy captured the village of Olhivske and also made gains near Novoivanivka.

In the Novopavlivka direction, observers note a rapid shift of the enemy’s offensive from Donetsk region into the territories of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

In Donetsk region, on the Pokrovsk direction near the village of Zelenyi Hai in Volnovakha district, active combat is ongoing.

Observers say that the Russians have been trying to occupy the village for a long time, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly conduct clearing operations in the settlement, which has long remained in the gray zone.

DeepState reports that Zelenyi Hai is important for the Russians as a position near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions and near the village of Ivanivka, which they have recently focused on.

Zelenyi Hai is meant to become a stronghold and a gathering point for infantry, from which it would be easier for the enemy to advance further. However, the Ukrainian military is preventing the Russians from achieving their objectives.

On the morning of October 3, analysts reported that the occupiers advanced near Novoivanivka and Verbove in Zaporizhzhia, as well as near Bila Hora and Shandryholove in Donbas.

Frontline situation – latest news

As Glavred reported, the situation in the Pokrovsk direction is changing rapidly due to severe weather conditions, including strong winds and unstable skies. According to press officer of the 14th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Chervona Kalyna,” Maksym Bakulin, because of the strong winds, the enemy cannot effectively use drones, and the infantry assaults of the Russian occupying army end with heavy losses.

A representative of the operational-strategic group of forces “Dnipro,” Viktor Trehubov, stated that in autumn and winter, Russian troops will likely be forced to partially retreat from Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.

ISW analysts reported that the army of the aggressor country, Russia, continues assaults in Donbas, but the occupiers are suffering critical losses near Dobropillia and Novopavlivka.

The head of the Center for Occupation Studies, Petro Andriushchenko, stated that an active phase of the Russian offensive will continue in autumn. The occupiers aim to establish a regime of terror over the civilian population in Zaporizhzhia, similar to what they implemented in Kherson region. Andriushchenko urged residents of Zaporizhzhia to evacuate.

What the enemy is preparing in eastern Ukraine: expert opinion

Senior Lieutenant of the Ukrainian Defense Forces with the call sign “Alex,” author of the Telegram channel “Officer,” said that Russian occupying forces continue attempts to advance in the Pokrovsk direction. Tensions are rising both around Pokrovsk in Donetsk region and toward Dnipropetrovsk region.

He noted that the Russians are trying to infiltrate Pokrovsk in small groups to create chaos in the rear.

In the Dnipropetrovsk direction, the enemy is conducting constant infantry assaults.

“They are pushing with infantry assaults non-stop, 24/7,” the serviceman said. According to him, this has not been observed since the beginning of summer.
