Kyiv has received the first 230 generators from Warsaw, purchased with funds raised as part of the “Warmth from Poland to Ukraine” campaign. Some of the equipment will start powering the city’s boiler houses and pumping stations as early as today.
This was reported by Espreso correspondent Kateryna Halko.
Of this batch, 130 generators will operate directly in the capital, while another 100 units will be delivered by Polish volunteers to regions of Ukraine most in need of assistance.
The equipment has a capacity of up to 600 kW, capable of supplying electricity to apartment buildings, schools, and hospitals. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, some of the generators will begin operating today. Most will be installed at boiler houses and pumping stations to restore heat to residential buildings.
According to Klitschko, the capital has received:
- 1 FD 600 D diesel generator with a capacity of 600 kW
- 1 FD 80 B diesel generator with a capacity of 80 kW
- 20 FOGO FV20000TE / TRE generators with a capacity of 20 kW each
- 108 FOGO F12000iSG generators with a capacity of 12 kW each
The total capacity of the delivered equipment is 2,376 kW. The next batch of aid is expected soon, and another 90 generators from Warsaw are already on the way.

The funds to purchase this equipment were raised as part of the “Warmth from Poland to Ukraine” campaign. Within 10 days, about 60,000 Poles participated in the fundraiser, collecting over 8 million zlotys. The collection is still ongoing.
Poland’s chargé d’affaires in Ukraine, Piotr Łukaszewicz, reported that by the end of January, more than 1,000 generators from various sources will arrive in Kyiv.
Separately, the European Union is delivering over 400 generators with the support of the Polish State Reserves Agency. In addition, the Polish government has decided to provide around 400 generators from its national reserves.
Earlier reports stated that, as part of the “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” charity campaign, over 1 million zlotys had already been raised for generators for the capital.
