The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) launched a large-scale special operation on the morning of Wednesday, August 19, targeting an alleged criminal organization operating under the leadership of current and former members of parliament, with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President of Ukraine and other individuals.
According to official statements from the anti-corruption agencies, the operation aims to expose a structured criminal group that coordinated its activities at a high political level. Investigative actions are currently underway across multiple locations.
NABU and SAP have indicated that full details of the case, including specific charges and the identities of all suspects, will be released later once primary operational measures are completed.
Independent sources have provided additional information about the individuals reportedly involved.
Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that, according to his information, the case may include a current deputy from the banned Opposition Platform — For Life (OPZZh) party who is a well-known real estate developer.
Sources within law enforcement speaking to ZN.UA named several key figures allegedly connected to the investigation.
Among them is Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Office of the President; Vadym Stolar, a sitting Member of Parliament previously associated with OPZZh; and Maksym Mykytas, a former Member of Parliament.
The same sources indicated that officials from the Ministry of Justice and representatives of Sense Bank are also mentioned in the materials of the case.
NABU confirmed that the criminal organization operated under the direction of both current and former lawmakers and involved senior officials from the presidential administration as well as other persons whose positions have not yet been publicly specified.
The agencies emphasized that the group’s activities were coordinated at a high political level, suggesting significant influence and resources were used to advance its interests.
At this stage, neither NABU nor SAP has officially released the names of the suspects or detailed the specific episodes under investigation. The institutions have stressed that all relevant information will be made public after the completion of urgent investigative steps necessary to secure evidence and prevent interference with the inquiry.
The operation marks one of the more high-profile anti-corruption actions in recent months, given the reported involvement of figures close to the highest levels of state power.
Public interest has focused particularly on the possible connection to the Office of the President through Deputy Head Iryna Mudra, as well as the inclusion of well-known political and business figures such as Stolar and Mykytas.
Lawmakers and observers are closely monitoring developments, as committee meetings and further procedural steps are expected in the coming days.
The Verkhovna Rada and relevant institutions have not yet issued formal comments beyond the initial notifications from NABU and SAP.
For now, the anti-corruption bodies continue active investigative work. Officials have repeated that transparency will follow once the immediate phase of the operation is complete and the integrity of the evidence has been ensured.
The case underscores ongoing efforts by Ukraine’s independent anti-corruption institutions to address alleged high-level organized crime involving political and administrative elites. Further official updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
NABU and SAP have released a video of the special operation exposing a criminal organization. The group operated under the leadership of current and former Members of Parliament and included high-ranking officials from the Office of the President of Ukraine, as well as other individuals. The operation is codenamed “Forrest Gump.”
