Strong Explosions Heard In Occupied Crimea At Night, Parts Of Several Districts Left Without Power

Explosions were reported across Russian-occupied Crimea late on April 1 and into the early hours of April 2, as drone activity appeared to target multiple areas across the peninsula.

This was reported by Krym Realii, citing Crimean social media channels.

According to the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind, the Krasnoperekopsk, Rozdolne, Krasnohvardiiske and Kirovske districts, as well as Feodosia and Kerch, came under drone attack.

Subscribers to the Telegram channel reported that the Russian Kirovske airfield was under attack, where loud explosions and gunfire were heard, and that a “missile or jet-powered drone” was seen over Kerch. They added that Russian forces fired at it, but it continued flying across the strait.

Energy company Krymenergo stated in its Telegram channel: “Due to technological disruptions in the main power grids, consumers in the Dzhankoy, Krasnohvardiiske, Oktyabrske, Pervomaiske, Chornomorske, Krasnoperekopsk, Armyansk, Saky, and Rozdolne districts have been disconnected. Repair crews are carrying out emergency restoration work.”

The editorial team of Krym.Realii cannot confirm the accuracy or completeness of this information amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since 2022, the Crimean peninsula has been almost daily targeted by drones and missiles. In most cases, Russia’s Defense Ministry or authorities do not confirm strikes on military targets, even when such information can be verified.
