In Dublin, the Ukrainian community held its third peaceful “Save Oleshky” rally to draw the international community’s attention to the humanitarian crisis in the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Embassy of Ukraine in Ireland and the Ukrainian Crisis Centre in Ireland announced the event on Facebook.
The rally’s main slogan was “Eyes on Oleshky.” Representatives of the Ukrainian embassy, members of the Ukrainian community, and Irish friends of Ukraine joined the event.

According to the organizers and the embassy, the Russian occupation has led to a critical humanitarian situation in the city. Local residents are living in extremely difficult conditions and need humanitarian assistance and the opportunity to evacuate safely.

Participants called for ensuring that the situation in Oleshky remains on the international agenda and for drawing attention to the threat of starvation and the need for humanitarian access to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian city.

The Ukrainian Crisis Centre in Ireland said this was the third peaceful rally in support of Ukraine organized by the community. The centre urged people to share verified information about the situation facing residents of Oleshky and support initiatives expressing solidarity with Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, the first two demonstrations in support of Oleshky took place in early October near the General Post Office (GPO).
US First Lady Melania Trump said she had secured a local ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine covering only Oleshky, a city in the Russian-occupied part of the Kherson region.
According to the White House press service, the parties agreed to temporarily suspend all military operations in Oleshky to allow humanitarian aid to be delivered and prepare for the evacuation of civilians through an agreed safe corridor.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukraine would introduce a ceasefire in a designated area from the night of October 27 to carry out a humanitarian operation in the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky.
