The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has launched a €2 billion program in Ukraine to finance energy independence solutions.

The Energy Security Support Facility (ESSF) program provides Ukrainian households, businesses, and communities with access to €2 billion to install solar panels, generators, batteries, and other energy-independent solutions, according to a statement by the bank on Facebook. This was reported by NV.ua.

“This is the largest initiative in Ukraine to strengthen energy resilience,” the EBRD noted.

Grants are provided for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as for individuals who own apartments or private houses, and for housing cooperatives (OSBB). The loans themselves are provided through partner banks of the ESSF.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development program supports renewable energy projects (solar power plants, wind power plants, small hydropower plants, biogas), energy storage systems, energy-efficient buildings, and small-scale generation up to 50 MW, including gas power plants and installations for private use or for the grid.

“Under the ESSF program, dozens of decentralized systems are already being implemented across Ukraine,” the EBRD emphasized.

The list of EBRD partner banks includes: Ukreximbank, UkrSibbank, ProCredit Bank, Credit Agricole Bank, PrivatBank, Ukrgasbank, Oschadbank, and Raiffeisen Bank.

Detailed information on loan terms and contacts for program consultants can be found on the EBRD website via the provided link.

Earlier, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers simplified and expedited access to funding for apartment buildings under the “SvitloDim” program.
