Ukraine war updates on March 20, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights
(1) Tense situation continues in the war zone in eastern Ukraine as Russian armed forces opened fire 32 times over the last day: 31 times on Donetsk direction and 1 time on Lugansk direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces opened sniper fire near Tryokhizbenka; the enemy’s provocation took place near Opytne, Novgorodske, Luhanske and Krasnogoryvka;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian armed forces opened fire upon Ukrainian positions in Avdyivka, Pisky, Zaytseve and Mayorsk from 82-mm mortar launchers; in addition, Russian enemy fired on Ukrainians from 120-mm mortars and 152-mm self propelled artillery cannons on the west of Avdyivka; Russians also used anti-aircraft machine gun during their attacks on Myronivska and Troytske;
(4) Mariupol direction: the situation was calm on thi direction over the last 24 hours;
(5) No lethal casualties among Ukrainian serviceman reported over the last 24 hours, but 1 serviceman wounded as hit a mine in Bakhmutovsky district; (6) Ukrainian military truck hit a mine near Avdyivka in the afternoon: preliminary number of killed Ukrainian servicemen from 2 to 5.
