Russia Attacks Dnipropetrovsk Region with Drones and Artillery, Damaging Homes

Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of Dnipropetrovsk region, using artillery and FPV drones, damaging civilian infrastructure.

This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko, according to ua.news.

As a result of the shelling, residential houses, outbuildings, power lines, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

“Attacks on the Nikopol area continued until late evening. The enemy terrorized Nikopol itself, as well as the Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovska, and Marhanets communities, using artillery and FPV drones,” Haivanenko noted.

According to him, the shelling damaged six private houses, a garage and a car, and an outbuilding, while another building was completely destroyed. Damage to a power line was also recorded.

In addition, a Russian drone struck the Vasylkivka community in the Synelnykove district. “The aggressor UAV hit the Vasylkivka community in Synelnykove district. A fire broke out. A private house, an outbuilding, and a gas pipeline were damaged,” the regional head added.

At the same time, air defense units destroyed two enemy drones over the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region.

On the night of January 6, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using more than 60 strike drones. Among them were Shahed- and Gerbera-type UAVs, as well as others. Most aerial targets were destroyed by air defense forces, though some strikes were recorded.

As a reminder, drones attacked 20 Russian regions, with 129 UAVs destroyed.

In addition, long-range drones of the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center successfully struck two key facilities in Russia’s oil and gas sector.

In the Russian city of Saratov, a fire was recorded in the area of a local oil refinery.
