Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of August 10, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman onATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.
(1) Russian hybrid forces intensified activities and continue used forbidden by the Minsk agreements hard weaponry in the war zone in eastern Ukraine; in particular, the enemy shelled 16 times upon Ukrainian troops positions during the last 24 hours, including 7 times on Luhansk direction, 2 times on Donetsk direction and 7 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: the enemy opened fire from differnt types of weaponry upon Ukrainian troops positions all acroos the frontline; the main warfare took place in Popasna district, where Russian forces actively used armored vehicles and mortar launchers against Ukrainian troops; another Russian 30-min shelling reported in Novotoshkivske;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers fulfilled 2-hours-long attacks with the use of different tyoes of weraponry in the south area of Avdiivka as well as in Butovka mine;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian occupiers used forbidden 82-mm mortars during attacks upon Ukrainian positions near Starognativka and Talakivka and Shyrokino; Russian proxies also fired with forbidden hard 120-mm mortars upon Ukrainian positions in Vodyane, Pavlopil and Hnutove; in particular, the hottest spot was in Hnutove, where Russian troops fulfilled 2-hours-long shelling upon Ukrainian positions; to this end, the enemy used BM-21 Grad missles fire and released 27 rounds at Ukrainian positions in Shyrokino and 15 in Vodyane;
(5) No lethal casualties reported, but 1 Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
