Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of August 12, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman onATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.
(1) Russian hybrid forces shelling reported 19 times upon Ukrainian troops positions during the last 24 hours, including 9 times on Luhansk direction, 4 times on Donetsk direction and 6 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces shelling with small arms reported in Krymske and Novooleksandrivka; hard weaponry, in particular mortar launchers have been used by the enemy in Novotoshkivske, Krymske, Schastya and the village of Syze (Stanytsya Luhanska disrtict); Russian proxies activity concentrated at Bahmut road, where they released 30 mines of hard 120-mm caliber;
(3) Donetsk direction: Avdiivka remains the hottest spot on this direction, where the enemy have laucnhed attacks with the use of grenade launchers and machine guns fire and released 4 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions; Russian occupiers also used high caliber machine guns during shelling upon Ukrainian positions in Zaytseve;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian occupiers used small arms and forbidden mortar launchers fire during shelling at Lebedynske and Vodyane and released more than 10 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions there; the enemy also violated ceasefire with the use of small arms in Maryinka district;
(5) 1 Ukrainian serviceman hit a mine and 9 more Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
