Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of January 4, 2018

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  January 4, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.



(1) Russian hybrid forces violated Christmas/New Year ceasefire regime 5 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours;
(2) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers used high caliber machine guns and grenade launchers during attacks against Ukrainian troops near Avdiivka; the enemy fired with 82-mm mortar launchers and released 4 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions in Maryinka; Russian proxies armed provocation with 82-mm mortars and infantry weaponry reported in the area of Butovka mine;
(3) Mariupol direction: Russian proxies violated ceasefire with small arms and grenade launchers near Vodyane;
(4) No lethal casualties as well as no wounded in actions reported among Ukrainian servicemen over the last 24 hours in the war zone in eastern Ukraine.
