Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of January 6, 2018

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  January 6, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.



(1) Russian hybrid forces continue violate Christmas/New Year ceasefire regime in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian proxies launched 1-hour-long shelling with forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers and high caliber machine guns in the area of Svitlodarska line; the enemy released 10 mines of forbidden 120-mm caliber near the settlement of Luhanske;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers fired with high caliber machine guns, small arms as well as forbidden 82-mm mortars upon Ukrainian troops positions in Butovka mine;
(4) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 1 serviceman was wounded in action in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
