Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of January 9, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.
(1) Russian hybrid forces violated ceasefire regime 6 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the past 24 hours;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers launched 4-hours-long attack upon Ukrainian troops positions in the area of Svitlodarska line; the enemy released 47 mines of forbidden 120-mm caliber in Luhanske; Russian high caliber machine guns and grenade launchers fire reported in Svitlodarsk;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian proxies released 2 hours long attacks with infantry weaponry, including intense use of sniper fire, upon Ukrainian troops positions near Novotroytske; Russian forces released 6 mines of 120-mm caliber upon Ukrainian defenders near Pavlopol; Russian APCs, grenade launchers and machine guns fire reported near Talakivka;
(4) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 3 serviceman were wounded in action in the area of Svitlodarska line and Novotroytske for the past 24 hours.
