Russia Launches Massive Drone Attack on Cherkasy, Targeting Critical Infrastructure

Russian drones attacked Cherkasy region, hitting critical infrastructure and homes. Six people were injured, fires extinguished, and repairs are underway.

On the night of December 18, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on the Cherkasy region, hitting the regional center among other locations. The strike caused damage and injuries in the city.

This was reported by 24 Kanal, citing Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

What were the consequences of the attack in Cherkasy region?

Six people sought medical assistance following the shelling. Fortunately, none of them sustained serious injuries.

According to the Regional Military Administration, the Russians primarily targeted critical infrastructure that night, leaving parts of the city without electricity.

Energy crews are currently continuing repair work.

The drones also damaged residential areas in several locations. Preliminary reports indicate that at least fifteen private houses were affected.

“Windows and roofs were broken, fires broke out, and the windows of a sports complex were shattered. Several vehicles were also damaged,” added Ihor Taburets.

The head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that all necessary services are working at the attack sites. According to the State Emergency Service, all fires have now been extinguished.

A total of 60 rescuers and 20 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the aftermath of the attack.

Russians continue shelling: latest news

On the morning of December 18, enemy forces attacked Zaporizhzhia again. As a result of the shelling, a residential building and a garage cooperative were damaged. A nine-story building nearby sustained damage from the blast wave.

The day before, on December 17, Zaporizhzhia was also shelled. Residential buildings were destroyed, and an infrastructure facility, including a school, was damaged.

On the night of December 18, the enemy attacked energy infrastructure in Mykolaiv region. This caused power outages in settlements in Voznesensk and Mykolaiv districts.
