Russia deployed three regiments near Pokrovsk as Ukrainian forces repel assaults, inflicting 30% higher losses, blocking advances, protecting logistics routes, and neutralizing infiltration attempts effectively.
Russian command has committed an operational reserve to the battle for Pokrovsk — three regiments of the 76th Air Assault Division. This was reported by korrespondent.net.
Ukrainian forces continue to defend the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Over the past week, total losses of Russian occupying forces in the fighting for Pokrovsk amounted to 446 personnel, which is 30% higher than in the previous period, the 7th Air Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Tuesday, December 16.
“The increase in losses is linked to the full-scale deployment of the operational reserve — three regiments of Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division,” the statement said.
It is noted that Russian troops are most active on the western outskirts of Pokrovsk. Enemy airborne units are attempting to break through toward the village of Hryshyne, northwest of Pokrovsk, advancing simultaneously along several routes.
The Defense Forces are countering these attempts, cutting off likely enemy advance routes and inflicting damage with artillery and FPV drones.
Ukrainian troops are also conducting an operation to provide air cover for ground logistics routes on the approaches to the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Nearly 100% of enemy aerial targets attempting to approach these routes are being destroyed.
Meanwhile, on the southeastern outskirts of Myrnohrad, the enemy is increasing pressure. Isolated attempts at enemy infiltration have been recorded on the approaches to “Upper” Myrnohrad; however, Ukrainian soldiers — including fighters of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade — are detecting and eliminating sabotage groups.
The Defense Forces also continue to stabilize and expand the logistics corridor to Myrnohrad. In the areas of Svitlyi and Rivne, isolated appearances of enemy groups are recorded and promptly neutralized.
As a reminder, on December 15 alone, 151 combat engagements took place along the front line. The highest number of battles was recorded in the Pokrovsk area — 40.
Over the past day, Russia lost 1,150 troops killed and wounded. Since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russian losses have totaled nearly 1.2 million personnel.
