The entire Ukraine, not just the territories under government control, must integrate into NATO, said U.S. Congressman and President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Gerry Connolly in an interview with Radio Liberty.
“I, of course, believe that President Biden has been — and continues to be — sympathetic to Ukraine’s aspirations, including NATO membership. And he would be supportive of this.
But will he take concrete actions? Without consultations with other NATO allies, that would be impossible.
Once again, he is focused on priorities. And the top priority is to end the violence carried out by the Russians on Ukrainian territories (…), to support President Zelensky, to support the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian people to win this struggle.
In my view, NATO should include all of Ukraine — the east, the south, and Crimea.”
