Ukraine, Syria, and Turkey held trilateral talks in Damascus. The leaders discussed security, regional issues, energy cooperation, and ways to overcome the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

A trilateral meeting between the teams of Ukraine, Syria, and Turkey took place in Damascus, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following his visit to Syria. This was reported by Radio Svoboda.

“We are building new relations, new opportunities, and expanding cooperation for the sake of security,” he wrote.

Zelenskyy clarified that the sides managed to discuss a number of issues: “from security and defense matters and the situation in the region through all the events around Iran, to energy and infrastructure cooperation between our countries.”

Work on food security will also continue.

“We also discussed in detail how to overcome the consequences of the war, as well as the negotiation process regarding Russia’s war against our country and our people,” Zelenskyy said.

On Sunday, April 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

“We agreed to work together to provide more security and opportunities for the development of our societies. We discussed the situation in the region and the prospects for its improvement. We also discussed the circumstances of Russia’s war against Ukraine, and I am grateful for the support. There is strong interest in exchanging military and security experience. Thank you for your words of respect for our people,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram and published a video of the meeting.

On Sunday, April 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Syria for a visit.

“Today in Damascus. We continue our active Ukrainian diplomacy for real security and economic cooperation. Important meetings are ahead — several substantive formats have been prepared. Every nation and every region deserves a peaceful life,” the president noted.
