Zelenskyy meets Fico in Yerevan, discusses cooperation, intergovernmental commission, visit exchanges, and EU accession, as Slovakia backs Ukraine’s membership and pledges support during talks today.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Yerevan, where the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, future government coordination, and Ukraine’s path toward European Union membership.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine remains open to constructive dialogue with Slovakia and is заинтересована in strengthening bilateral relations. The talks focused on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, as well as preparations for an upcoming meeting of an intergovernmental commission.
The leaders also agreed to work on organizing reciprocal visits between Kyiv and Bratislava, with their teams tasked with coordinating schedules.
EU accession was another key topic. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of Slovakia’s support for Ukraine’s membership bid, noting that Bratislava is ready to assist Kyiv along the path toward integration into the European Union.
“I am grateful for Slovakia’s support,” Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico acknowledged that despite existing disagreements, both sides remain committed to maintaining constructive and friendly relations between their countries.
