Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has launched a SAP-based digital logistics management system, now in permanent use, enabling real-time resource tracking, procurement automation, and data-driven decisions across more than 1,000 military units.

The technology is built on a defense resource management system used by more than 90% of NATO member states’ armed forces.

The Ministry of Defense has completed the pilot operation of the digital logistics management system and moved it into permanent use. This was reported by Glavkom, citing the ministry’s press service.

The system has received all the necessary authorization documents, user technical support has been established, and software protection and update processes are in place. It is built on SAP, a defense resource management program used by more than 90% of NATO armies.

The system allows users to see available resources in real time, track their movement, plan supplies, and make decisions based on up-to-date data. More than 1,000 military units are currently using it.

It covers key areas of military support at the strategic and operational levels, in particular:

  • UAVs;
  • ground weapons systems;
  • close-combat equipment;
  • electronic warfare systems;
  • communications equipment;
  • fuel and lubricants;
  • clothing and personal equipment;
  • medical supplies;
  • engineering equipment;
  • food supplies.

The system also automates defense procurement processes and financial accounting.

It is noted that work on the system lasted three years. It was tested using real data and in combat conditions. In practice, critically important processes were verified — from weapons accounting and distribution to financial operations and data protection. The system successfully passed stress tests and proved its reliability under high loads.

“Going forward, the system will continue to be implemented and expanded with new functions. This will help introduce unified rules for managing defense resources, make decision-making more transparent, and speed up the work of the entire security and defense sector of Ukraine,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the government has updated the rules for organizing meals for citizens arriving at territorial recruitment and social support centers during mobilization.
