The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate UAH 987.1 million in subsidies for the implementation of 139 reconstruction projects in 2026.
This was reported by Delo.ua, citing a statement from the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
It is noted that the funds, provided under an agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB), will be directed towards the renovation of schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure facilities, particularly in frontline regions.
Priority — frontline regions
This year’s tranche of the subsidy will be received by 71 communities. Special attention is given to the restoration of territories most affected by Russian aggression. Funds will be allocated to 31 communities in the following regions:
- Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv
- Odesa and Sumy
- Kharkiv and Chernihiv
How the funds will be spent
The subsidy will finance projects that have already passed strict selection and approval by experts from the European Investment Bank. Among the 139 facilities to receive funding this year are:
- 76 educational institutions (schools and kindergartens)
- 39 healthcare facilities (hospitals and outpatient clinics)
- 18 critical infrastructure facilities (water supply, heating, and sewage systems)
- 6 administrative service centers (ASCs)
Program scale
This funding is part of a large agreement with the EIB totaling €340 million.
The implementation of these projects is aimed not only at restoring damaged infrastructure but also at creating better conditions for community development, improving people’s quality of life, and ensuring their safety and comfort.
The actual implementation of the projects began back in 2024. In total, 152 projects have been approved under the Program, of which 13 have already been completed.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved a resolution, developed by the Ministry of Finance, on the distribution of an additional grant of UAH 2.95 billion to local budgets in 2026.
