KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine’s capital endured another devastating night as Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, causing widespread destruction across multiple districts, killing at least nine people, and injuring more than 30 others, including four children.

Emergency crews continued search-and-rescue operations throughout the day, working to clear rubble, extinguish fires, and assess the full scale of the damage. Authorities warned that casualty figures could change as recovery efforts remain ongoing.

Residential Areas Hit Across Five Districts

According to Ukrainian officials, the overnight ballistic missile strike caused extensive damage in five districts of Kyiv. Residential apartment buildings, non-residential facilities, and other civilian infrastructure suffered varying degrees of destruction.

Ambulance Service Facility Sustains Direct Hits

Among the sites struck was the territory of Kyivmedspetstrans, Kyiv’s municipal emergency medical transport organization.

Officials reported that the facility sustained two direct missile impacts.

Despite the significant destruction, authorities said no personnel were injured during the attack, preventing what could have been an even greater tragedy.

Preliminary assessments indicate that four buildings belonging to the organization were partially destroyed, while additional facilities on the site also suffered damage.

Emergency Vehicles Destroyed

The attack also dealt a serious blow to Kyiv’s emergency medical response capabilities.

Officials reported that five ambulances were completely destroyed by fire, while 20 additional emergency vehiclesthat served the capital’s healthcare system sustained heavy damage.
