The European Union is preparing its 20th sanctions package against Russia, which includes restrictions on 30 individuals and 64 companies.
According to iPress, this was reported by the investigative project “Systema,” citing a draft of the document.
Among the military figures on the list are the head of the Russian Armed Forces’ Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troops, Aleksey Rtyshchev, and his deputy Andrey Marchenko; Timur Shagivaleyev, director of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone; Vladimir Lepin, CEO of the Kalashnikov concern; and top managers of Rosteh subsidiaries.
In the “Culture and Sports” section, the list includes rapper Timati (Timur Yunusov), Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Sergey Obryvalin, former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov, and boxer Fyodor Chudinov.
In the “Businessmen” category, the sanctions target former senator and billionaire Andrey Molchanov, as well as Ilya Shcherbovich and Vladimir Avetisyan, who are accused of generating profits for the Russian budget through their businesses.
Additionally, the EU plans to add 20 Russian banks to the list, including Russkiy Standart, Avangard, Pochta Bank, and Metallinvestbank. The transaction ban will result in their disconnection from the SWIFT system. The restrictions will also apply to oil companies Bashneft and Slavneft, as well as several major Russian refineries.
