Ukrainian Colonel Kashchenko criticizes Syrskyi over AWOL policy, questioning inhumane treatment, lack of clear solutions, and blaming leadership decisions for losses, demoralization, and ineffective counterattacks.
Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kashchenko does not understand why inhumane treatment is still not being addressed within the Defense Forces, according to Censor.NET.
What is known?
“If the Commander-in-Chief speaks about inhumane treatment, what exactly does he mean and why is it still not being addressed?
If the Commander-in-Chief speaks about harsh punishments, then which punishments exactly, apart from transfers to assault units?
Are these intentions, or are there already clear decisions preceded by prior data collection on the problem of AWOL, its comprehensive analysis involving relevant specialists (psychologists, lawyers)? And then the development of a clear plan and its implementation.
But for now, it is unclear what exactly is being used to solve the problem: AWOL itself or the severity of punishment. Has the Commander-in-Chief himself looked into the AWOL issue?” he commented on Syrskyi’s statement about AWOL problems.
“Because for now it looks like he has led to the loss of competent generals and brigade commanders, erased everything possible in senseless counterattacks – from motivated personnel to foreign equipment, maximally demoralized subordinates from soldiers to generals, and then sat down and started acting like he knows what needs to be done,” Kashchenko added.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the opposes increasing punishment for AWOL.
He noted that the main reasons for AWOL are unwillingness to serve and fear for one’s life.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in order to avoid problems with mobilization, representatives of Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers should treat mobilized individuals “humanely.”
